My Story
Originally from Leicestershire, I moved to Surrey in 2007 after studying English and French at the University of Warwick and working in France, both as a language assistant in Angers (a beautiful town if you've never been!) and then working as a 'Jeune Fille' hostess at Moët Hennessy's chateau in Champagne. Definitely the craziest job I've had! My late father worked his whole career in the wine industry and from the moment he took us walking in the spectacular Rhineland vineyards on a family holiday to Germany, I was hooked!
I moved to Sotheby's Wine Department, where I completed my WSET Diploma to qualify as a wine specialist, and from there to Denbies Wines Estate in my hometown of Dorking, Surrey, where I was fully immersed in the wonderful world of English wines.
In 2024, I decided it was time to focus on my favourite elements of wine- education and entertainment and Wine Experience was born. As a mother of 2 sons, one of whom is autistic, I am passionate about inclusivity and that's just what I aim to do with Wine Experience- take away the snobbery, the mystery and the elitism of wine and make it accessible to all in a fun and engaging way.
