Wine of the Weekend: Graham Beck Brut Rosé

It looks like pink champagne, it smells like pink champagne, it's made from the same grape varieties as pink champagne and in the same way. So it is champagne? Well, no. If it doesn't come from the Champagne region of France, it is knows as traditional method sparkling wine, or in the case of this South African beauty, Methode Cap Classique. But it's as close as you're going to get to the French fizz, without the hefty price tag and with succulent red berry flavours, a dry and refreshing finish and lovely smooth bubbles, this is an absolute steal at £12.99 from Waitrose, this weekend only. And having been served to the likes of President Obama and President Mandela, it's certainly nothing to be sniffed at! Want more wine wisdom?
